Tebogo Qhingana

Tebogo Carllouis Qhingana was born in Daveyton (Benoni) in 1993. He discovered his love of art during his early childhood, pursuing this passion as a self-taught artist after matriculating from Unity Secondary School in 2012.

Although he nearly abandoned his dream at one stage, he persevered in his endeavour of a professional full-time career through commissions. He hasn't looked back since and recently completed a diploma in Fine Art and Applied Arts at Tshwane University of Technology.

Tebogo has participated in several group exhibitions and was one of the finalists of the 2019 Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards.

His artworks talk about the realities of vulnerable children from a small township in Daveyton, outside Benoni, who have had to assume leadership from a young age. They have not been strictly guided or groomed for the role, which is reflected in his works as the children yearn for happiness, peace, love and wisdom.
