New energy and vision at Asisebenze
We are thrilled to welcome Tanya Krain to Asisebenze Art Atelier as our new General Manager. With her arrival, we expect a surge of new energy and innovation that will drive our art community forward.
Tanya's journey began as a project manager before she pursued a Bachelor's in Education at Wits University. She spent five years as the art atelier at Reddam Waterfall Estate, where she organized junior primary exhibitions. Her career path led her to various roles, including deputy principal at City Kidz and head of secular at Torah Academy, all while continuing her passion for teaching art.
For the past nine years, Tanya has been an art teacher at Sandton Sinai, where she also runs a Sunday morning art class at her home. Art has always been a cornerstone of her life, providing a means of expression and emotional release since childhood.
“Art has been my life. It has been my saving grace. It is a way that I find I can easily express myself through a piece of art rather than words,” Tanya shares. “I found that when I was younger, it used to allow me to deal with my emotions. It is very, very close to my heart.”
Tanya’s vision for Asisebenze is to elevate its profile, attract and nurture talented artists, and foster a vibrant art community.
“My hopes for Asisebenze is to basically grow awareness for people to know about us, to also be able to draw the correct artists into the space and to help develop them, to help give them a vision, to spend time with them and guide them as much as possible,” she says. “I think there's massive potential. And it is a beautiful building with an inspiring space and incredible energy.”
Join us in welcoming Tanya Krain to the Asisebenze family! Be sure to say hello when next you come to events at Asi.
